Final Draft (Allusion Poem, Graphic, & Reflection)

Poem:

(In relation to the story of the goddess Artemis)

A golden arrow

Sharp and pointed,

I'm waiting with anticipation

Years of skillful practice and patience,

Leading up to this one moment of truth

The teaser who taunts so proudly in the distance,

Mocking me, doubting me.

Thoughts in my head blurred my vision,

With the dream that seemed so near

Suddenly became a distant goal.

I stand alone with misconception

Then it hit me...

The dream is already prevailing,

All I need is more ambition

The reason for my existence,

The reason why I am here

It’s the hunt, the thrill, and the determination

It is now clear,

Aim for the farthest

And hit with a perfect shot

Relection

Through this assignment, I felt as though that I was able to have a better understanding of allusion. I could apply the concept of allusion in relation to myself. For me, this was a fun project that allowed me to explore various mythological figures. At first, it was difficult for me to research on a topic, but I finally found a mythological figure to compare to. The reason I picked the goddess Artemis was because I felt we had the same characteristics. She was a determined hunter who felt that she had a duty to kill the woman who kept bragging about all her kids. Like myself, I am a very determined person but all I need is my motivation. When Artemis shoots her arrows, she makes sure she has a clean shot even though her target is far away. For me, I feel as though my dreams are so far for me to reach and that my main goal is to get rid of my fears and doubts. I enjoy the thrill and challenges yet I need a lot of motivation to reach my goals.
